Our Naturopathic Doctors
Alexandra Hurtado, BA, CNP, ND Clinic Director
Alexandra is a naturopathic doctor, holistic nutritionist and sociologist. She is a graduate from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, The Institute of Holistic Nutrition and York University. Alexandra's practice focuses on women's health and pediatrics with a particular interest in fertility and reproductive care and has completed further training in this area.
She believes in finding and treating the root of the disease in an individualized aproach to health care. Having a nutrition background, one of Alexandra's main treatment focuses involves in depth dietary counselling, other preferred methods of treatment include acupuncture or traditional chinese medicine, as well as botanical medicine, among others. Alexandra's primary goal is always to educate her patients and try to explain the body's complex processes in a way the patient can grasp, she believes in empowering her patients as the key to their health lies within their own hands.
Alexandra is a member of both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), and is licensed through the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy.
Practitioner's hours: Alexandra will be available Monday to Friday from 6pm-8pm and Saturdays from 10-6pm until August 2011.
Nicole Henry, BSc , ND
Nicole has a passion for learning about people, listening to their stories and weaving the different aspects of their lives together to discover and address what is at the root of their health concerns. Improving and promoting client health is her primary focus, and she achieves this by using safe and effective natural treatments as well as engaging and encouraging patients to become the most important member of their health care team. Her focus is on digestive and cardiovascular health, stress management and physician health.
Nicole is part-time academic and clinical faculty at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), where she completed the 2-year residency program after earning her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine diploma. Her undergraduate Honours degree in Biology and Pharmacology was obtained from McMaster University, and she has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical research. Nicole is a member of both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), and is licensed through the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy.
Practitioner's Hours: Nicole is available Tuesdays from 10-6 and Wednesdays from 10 am-4pm. Visits outside of these hours can be made by appointment.
