Our Nutritionist
Johana Orrego, CNP, RHN *On Maternity leave until Spring 2013
Johana is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner and Registered Nutritional Consulting Health Practitioner. She was born and raised in Colombia where fresh homemade food is the number one choice for most people. When she moved to Canada for her studies, she noticed that homemade food was not a priority and that convenience and speed meant more than nutrition. This encouraged her to follow her calling in Holistic Nutrition at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition after completing her Food and Nutrition Management Program at Centennial College. Johana loves to learn everything she can about whole-body nutrition and educate others about the gifts wholesome foods give in every bite.
She loves helping people and she believes that caring and understanding are two important qualities to have in order to make a positive change in someone’s life. Johana had been very involved with the community; she worked with Meals on Wheels and with a Congregate Dining program for seniors and individuals in need of warm meals. This exposure provided her with the opportunity to experience the spirit of contributing and supporting the community. In addition, she acknowledges the need for nutritional meals in our society, the barriers to obtaining these meals for many and the lack of education surrounding nutrition in general. Her goal is that together she will help you build and share a better tomorrow.
