Our Psychotherapist
Misha Capler, MSW, RSW
Misha is a Registered Social Worker. She earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Carleton University in Ottawa in 1994, and has specialized training and extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, a modality to treat depression and anxiety, and in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, a mindfulness-based practice. Misha has also been trained in Critical Incident and Stress Debriefing for individuals and teams following serious injury or death in the workplace, and has smoking cessation training.
Misha's view of psychotherapy is shaped by her belief in the intrinsic strength and value of each human being. She believes that we are capable of making significant changes, especially when we have the support of being truly understood and validated. She also believes that we cannot separate the mind and body, and supports her clients in working with other practitioners, such as chiropractors, naturopaths, and massage therapists.
Misha works with adults of all ages, adolescents, couples and families to assist with difficulties in communication, self-esteem, sexuality, relationships, substance abuse, separation/divorce, depression, anxiety, body image, and workplace stress.
She is available for a free 15-minute consultation.
