Our Team

We believe that for optimal patient care an integrated team approach is crucial. This is why we have tried to put together a comprehensive health team at the Hillcrest Centre for Health. We are in the process of interviewing other health care providers to add to our team. Dr. Alexandra Hurtado, ND, BA, CNP

Clinic Director, Pediatrics & Women's Health Focus

Dr. Alexandra is a Naturopathic doctor, holistic nutritionist and sociologist. She is a graduate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, The Institute of Holistic Nutrition, and York University. Her practice focuses on women's health and pediatrics with a particular interest in fertility and reproductive care and has completed further training in this area. 

Dr. Alexandra, ND believes in finding and treating the root of the disease in an individualized approach to health care. Dr. Alexandra's main treatment tools involves clinical nutrition and in depth dietary counselling, acupuncture and traditional Asian medicine, as well as botanical medicine. Dr. Alexandra's primary goal is always to educate her patients and to explain the body's complex processes in ways that patients can understand and relate to. She believes in empowering her patients as the key to their health lies within their own hands.

Dr. Alexandra, ND is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), and is regulated under the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. 


Dr. Alexandra's hours of service : Tuesday 10:30-6pm, Thursdays 10:30-6pm and Saturdays 9-5pm.

Dr. Rachel Vong, ND

We are pleased to announce Dr. Vong will be joing our team as of December 1st 2019!

Dr. Vong's hours of service: Tuesdays  10am-6pm and Fridays 10am-6pm. 

Dr. Rachel Vong is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who completed her medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Her clinical internships included the Robert Schad Naturopathic Teaching Clinic, Sherbourne Health Centre, and the Brampton Civic Hospital. Prior to this, Dr. Vong obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health and Disease, Physiology, and Psychology from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Vong’s areas of focus include digestive disorders, autoimmune disease, brain and mental health disorders, and hormone imbalance. She uses evidence-based natural treatments and has experience successfully treating IBS, Crohn’s, anxiety, depression, stress-related disorders, thyroid conditions, eczema, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, and many more health concerns.
Dr. Vong is a strong believer that health is not just merely the absence of disease, but a state of optimal physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. She is focused on resolving the underlying root cause of disease and making long-lasting health changes. A large part of Dr. Vong’s practice involves educating and empowering people to take charge and be leaders of their own health. She looks forward to working with people from all walks of life, and hopes to support them to achieve their health goals.
Dr. Vong is an avid speaker and has been involved in several speaking engagements throughout downtown Toronto. She is an active member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP).



 
​Dr. Nicole Henry, ND, BSc(Hon)
Digestive, Cardiovascular, Stress Management focus

Dr. Nicole Henry, ND enjoys weaving various aspects of people’s lives together to address their health concerns, working to engage and encourage people to become the most important member of their health care team. She is a general naturopathic practitioner with a focus on digestive and cardiovascular health, stress management and physical health.

Dr. Nicole, ND is part-time academic and clinical faculty at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she completed a two-year residency program after earning her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine diploma. Her undergraduate Honours degree in Biology and Pharmacology was obtained from McMaster University, and she has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical research. Dr. Nicole is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and is a regulated member of  the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Dr. Nicole, ND has also studied acupuncture and traditional Vietnamese medicine at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine, a World Health Organization collaboration training centre in Vietnam.

Dr. Nicole's hours of service: Wednesdays from 10 am-6pm. 




Rubiel Chica, BA of Psychology,Specialist in Drug Dependence,RSSW
Registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Registered Social Service Worker

Rubiel is a highly qualified professional with vast experience in the treatment of various emotional and mental disturbances and a deep respect for people’s beliefs. He uses a biopsychosocial focus on individuals in order to reach an appropriate balance between body, mind and spirit. His main areas of expertise, which he began, developing in his university training and practicum, are social psychology and the comprehensive management of all types of chemical and non-chemical addictions.
He has worked as a university professor, lecturer, researcher and therapist for individuals and groups not only in his home country of Colombia, but also in Canada.
Rubiel gives interviews on radio programs in Toronto, a columnist in a Toronto newspaper, runs educational workshops on the development of life skills in community centres in English and Spanish-speaking communities and provides successfully psychotherapy and counseling to patients in consultation.  
Additionally, he has earned his Diploma with Honours in Social Service Worker from George Brown College.
He is an active member of The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Consultations are available in English and Spanish.
